This is the place where you can personalize your profile!
But, how?
By moving, adding and personalizing widgets.
You can drag and drop to rearrange.
You can edit widgets to customize them.
The left side has widgets you can add!
Some widgets you can only access when you get a premium membership.
Some widgets have options that are only available when you get a premium membership.
We've split the page into zones!
Certain widgets can only be added to certain zones.
"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!
Now go forth and astound us all with your devious profiles!
It's raining its pouring the old man is snoring...

So its raining alot and i'm inside trying to do a digital painting... however i can't seem to make one? I have this horrible problem where i start something and then decide i want to try something else and i just don't have the focus to finish out an idea. Ever. It's disheartening because i really wanted to enter the wacom contest that is happening because i love the product and i really do have a pretty unique desire that i'd one day like to see happen... But i just can't focus. I like art but i get so frustrated because i keep thinking about all the styles that exist and i think it would have been better in life if i had just not looked at as much art as i have. It goes from, I'm gonna try to make something that looks like oil painting to, well if i draw over this to get a clearer idea of where the lines are then i can fill them in like watercolours, to literally trying to sculpt out forms with textures and its just baffling!!! The casualty of studying art is that you lose what makes you, you. It starts to be influenced by what other people respect and want to see and i can't stop myself from trying to bend to appease them. I'm tired of me drawing or making something and people saying "Oh this looks like a Rockwell" or have you seen "Klimt?" Or "You would have loved that DaVinci exhibit." FUCKING NO. I want something to be mine... I want to forget everything i learned about periods of art and styles and BLAH. No more. I want to pick up a pen for the first time and start all over and just go with it. Not let all these other thoughts bombard their way in. Its bullshit.
nothn' much really. just dealing with the fact that we have to move out in a hurry because if the economy goes any further down the crapper, we're be s.o.l. and have to live in lesser standard housing just so we can afford food. >_>
I'm sorry to hear that... Hopefully baby Loki is doing well though? What are you guys doing career wise. I'll be honest as i'm still not involved much in the real world and its happenings so when i hear the economy is bad i really don't see anything cause all i pay for is tuition and gas money...

Jon is a WAN Tech. for Conway Corp, and I'm a SAHM (stay at home mom). I'm seriously thinking about going to get a job, but it would have to cover Loki's day care, gas, and then extra just to be worth it.
Loki is doing very well. He's a little hyper 2-year-old that actually listens very well. He's a good boy.
Hi Simon.... Thanks for the lovely comments. God, you make me feel old when you throw my age at me like that.... (laughs). Firstly, great work, you're getting a lot of experience from different places. That's great. I cast myself around a lot before I found the one or two things I REALLY wanted to spend time doing. As for the business side of things, I'm a pretty shy guy and I found over time that the more I grew as an artist, the more confident I became. I had my first solo exhibition opening last night and was as nervous as hell, so if it's not natural to you to sell yourself, accept that it may alsways be so and concentrate all you have on doing the absoloute best you can with your art... make it as great as it possibly can be then sit back and let it do the talking for you. Avoid listening to the ego and mates and well-wishers, (to a certain extent anyway) listen to your own artistic voice and always guage your art against others, keep things fresh and take on as much as you can. Back to the marketing side of things.... try self-publishing firstly, send stuff to the smaller markets, vanity publishing, comics etc. We all strart out just sending stuff around willy-nilly. Look at what that publisher prints, then tailor stuff accordingly. I've worked for comics, grphic design agencies, ad agencies, book illustrations, rainforest notice boards, editorial illustrations etc... you get the pont. It's all expreience and as you'r eonly young, it'll help crystallise your own style in the long run. The best tip I can give you is.... make as firm a decision as you can NOW, while you are still fairly young as to whgat you want to do and stick to it as best you can. My one true regret, is that I didn't and I haven't specialised in just the one thing. I have friends who are masters of their craft. maybe in my next life I'll do it that way. But like I said, it's great to diversify and it helps ones style soooo........
If you'd like to know anything more specific, let me know Ok? take care mate... keep it up, all the best, Aaron.
