This is a danger of what i do, because i draw straight onto the pad with ink i cant erase, and because there really is no method other then freedom of organic line i can easily get carried away and make it seem too cluttered. For instance i love the lower left of it, but the big ugly black circle is distracting and makes the piece terriblely unbalanced. You'll also notice the inclusion of a human figure. The idea at the time was to make a book of female figures in different poses and ouline their bodies using just the patterns. Im still gonna do it one day, but i hope i learn to use watercolours first to make them truly inspiring.
Practice makes perfect. The success is in the attempt. And this is not a very bad attempt at all. I actually like the hypnotic patterns and the clinical nature of the lines and strokes, considering its straight ink. I think its beautiful. I think the composition just got too massive, too fast. So many things shot off in different directions, and you might have lost a little bit of the cohesion. Simplicity in composition and concept usually makes for a solid foundation, rather than starting with a grand, complex idea.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
